 Story of a Single Mother Georgette Dilworth (Rhodes) a native of San Diego, CA and a graduate of the University of Phoenix who went through trials and tribulations to break down barriers and raise her children despite the odds.She began her journey as the Vice President of the Union when she was just 19 years young for the sole purpose of fighting on behalf of others. She was Guest Speaker for the Women on the Front Line event in Yuma, AZ and also the Vice President of the NAACP in Yuma, AZ. Her career spans working for the Dept of Defense for over 30 years starting as a Purchasing Agent in 1989 and excelling into many various positions throughout her career; including being the Associate Director for Small Business Programs, Assistant Director for the Mission Installation Contracting Command and working for the Small Business Administration. She raised her 4 beautiful chldren while enduring a brain aneurysm in her late thirties and 2 years later battling huge blood clots in both lungs all while surviving through single parenting. A committed activist and businesswoman who continues to break down barriers. She is now proud owner of her Non-Profit Irise-Up and her for Profit Small Business Programs Coaching and Consulting on Government Contracting . Her Business was nominated for the Entrepreneur Business Awards for the Winning with Women and Minorities Conference on April 27, 2022. Her story if of hope, determination, gratitude and perseverance!
